The Monster in My Bedroom

It started a couple of weeks ago. Some nights when I would go to bed, I would hear things. Noises , bumps, scratching, tapping, whispering. Sometimes it wven sounded like it from inside thehouse. And I would see shadows across my window. I knew I couldn’t tell because no one would believe me and that would just make it worse.
Then one night, a monster came into my bedroom. It was a Tuesday. I remember the day because it was my birthday. Mommy gave me a cupcake with a candle in it. Daddy didn’t say anything. Sometimes it is better that way. Butthat night after I went to bed, the monster came in through the window. He was dressed nice, but was very dirty.i pretended like I was a sleep but I kept my eyes open a litte so I could watch him. I was very scared an tried not to breathe, or move, or think. He walked over to the crib where my little brother sleeps and bent over it. I could not see what he was doing. He stood there for a minute and ten he left, crawling out through the window.
The next morning, my mom came in to get bobby and started yelling for dad (he is not really my dad, he is bobby’s dad. I never knew my real dad). Ambulances came and it was very busy. I tried to tell mom about the monster, but she said I was just having a bad dream and none of that rally happened but every night after that I lock my window and my door.
A couple of days later we all dressed up nice and went to church for bobby. Ever since  then, mommy cries a lot and looks at me sad. Dad spends more time at work which is good because when he is home, he is very angry. They argued last satrday and I haven’t seen dad since. Dad said it was my fault that bobby was dead, that I was jealous of all theattention he was getting. Bobby was not on his stoach when we put him to bed that night , but that is how you found him was not it? Dad asked.  Mom said that was not true, that bobby died because of sids. I do not know who that is. I thought maybe that was the monster name , but mommy always said there was no monster so I did not ask her about it.
Tonight the monster came back.

I tried to be quiet, but he came over and stood at my bed. He sai, “I know you are awake. The other night was not the first time I have been here, but tonight will be my las. I know that you are not happy here. Do you want to come with me? I promise no one will hurt you anymore. “ before I could think, I nodded my head and everything got dark. I see myself lying on my bed. I think of visiting my mother before I leave but the night is no longer young and there are many children on this block.

Migrant Labour

Migrant workers, those workers who move repeatedly in search of economic opportunity, tipically perform societys temporary jobs. The migrant’s low-paid works include “stooped labour” like cultivating crops, menial services such as cleaning public restrooms, “sweatshop” works such as making apparel, and assembly-line factory work like putting together computer parts. Migrant workers are often pivotal for economic growth.
Until the twentieth century, most migrant worker was internal. For example, generation of former slaves from the southern parts of the united states annually followed the crops north. Recently, countries.
Migrant workers rarely understand the custom and language of the host societies and are frequently ill housed malnourished, underpaid, and denied basic legal rights. Their children fall behind in school and are then apt to be put to work in violation of child labour laws. Poor sanitation, unsafe drinking water and overcrowded living condition make migrant labourers especially susceptible to contagious disease. In the 1980s and 1990s there tuberculosis and hepatitis rate far exceeded national norm’s. AIDS also spread rapidly. In short, the lives of migrant workers tend to be less comfortable and shorter than those of non migrants.
International economics determines where external migrants go. In the 1940s, when railroad workers and farm hands went off to fight in World War II, The United States reached an agreement with Mexico to provide with million of temporary Mexican migrants. In the postwar period, “guest workers” from southern Europe, Turkey and North Africa helped rebuild north-western Europe. In the 1970s and 1980s the oil-rich monarchs of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait flew Asians to build their new cities.
